Castel San Giorgio, Pinot Nero Brut, Oltrepo Pavese DOC

Grapes: 90% Pinot Nero, 10% Chardonnay

White vinification, Charmat Method (6 months on yeasts)

  

  

The origins of the winery date back to the XVI century, when the castle was built. The property is located in the area of Oltrepo Pavese, about 80 miles south of Milan , Lombardy .  

Tipically a red-sparkling wine area, it nowadays produces some important wines. The quality of the wines is guaranteed by the name of the winemaker, Donato Lanati, nominated one of the best in Italy .

  

     

TASTING NOTES: 

Brilliant straw-yellow, with lively, long-lasting mousse and fine, energetic bubbles.  At the nose a flowery bouquet with hints of yeasts and citrus, at the taste pleasant and refreshing, well balanced in the mouth.

  

  

FOOD PAIRING: 

Perfect as aperitif by itself, light seafood salad, appetizers in general.
