Fattoria San Francesco, Ronco dei 4 Venti 2006 - Ciro' Rosso DOC

Known since the XVth century, the family Siciliani  was brought to fame by many of its members, prelates, lawyers, soldiers and men of letters. 

In the chronicles of the period it is said that " ... on the ground called dopo San Francesco, in the country of Cirņ, Domenico from Paola... founded a monastery in 1578; all around vineyards and olive groves were planted ... " From those vineyards, the wines from the Fattoria San Francesco are still produced, and the monastery, today called Casale San Francesco, is the centre of the agricultural activity, and the residence of the family Siciliani. 

     

Ronco dei 4 Venti is the Ciro' Riserva of the winery, aged 1 year in barrique, gives its best after 4 years in the bottle. One of the highest expression of the Gaglioppo varietal.

  

 

TASTING NOTES: 

The bouquet is very intense and persistent, fine, wide, spiced, ethereal, of strong personality. At the taste dry, very fine, intense and lasting, quite distinguishable.

  

FOOD PAIRING: 

Beef, pork and mutton, well-matured and hot "Pecorino" cheese (sheep's milk cheese), especially that from Crotone.
